You Have a Beautiful Voice

We all have a voice; some of us talk, some of us whisper, some of us shout, some of us sing, and some of us blog.

This, is my blog. Would you care to stay for a quick thought or two?

    What’s in Edmonton?

Check out City and Dale, an Edmonton blog about practically everything! From local fashion trends, to new restaurants, upcoming events…everything! It’s pretty neat to be kept in the loop for what Edmonton has to offer (as it sometimes seems like it has none). I already got a few ideas of which places to check out! :)

Gotta love it when you discover cool things. AWESOME!

    Last One

At end of June this year, I will be receiving my last paycheque from the U of A since 2010. It is a weird feeling to be coming to the end of my contract. On one hand, I am already feeling more relieved just thinking that I will not have to deal with the stress of working full-time and going to school full-time anymore. On the other, I am wondering how on earth am I going to be able to pay off my car, pay monthly bills, put together our perfect wedding next year, and possibly purchase our new home, all without income on my side.

On the fun side of things, as of July 1, 2012, I am completely FREE for hang outs, coffee dates, (window) shopping trips, jam sessions, wedding shopping trips, girls night, boys and girls night, movie dates, games night, food dates, double dates, triple dates…ANYTHING, basically :) To set up a date, simply text me!

When you’re not having the best day, but someone comes up to you and says, “You look so pretty today!”

    Awesome.

    Life of Kobe

    Life of Kobe

This week I have been driving to Clareview station instead of taking the bus from my house because the bus schedule does not work with the reduced frequency of the trains (at least not without taking an earlier bus that meant waking up an extra 20 minutes earlier). It is also Spring term, so there are a lot more empty parking spots at the station.

After my full-day class and work today, I walked to my car, Kobe, in that crazy and snowy wind. I unlocked the car, opened the door, sat in the driver’s seat, and closed the door.

Why is my hair still being blown all over my face when I’m inside the car?

I turned towards the wind, and my eyes could not have opened any wider. *GASP* Where’s the window??

Turns out, I had forgotten that I rolled down my window all the way down in the morning because the car felt stuffy, and left the window completely down. ALL. DAY. I was in a state of shock for about half a second, and then I quickly scanned my car to see if anything happened to it. Checked the drawers, compartments, and took a look at the back seats. All the while, I was trying to remember if anything valuable was in the car.

Everything looked just the way I left it this morning. Nothing was missing, and luckily no garbage flew in with the crazy winds. The car was still there. Wow. I let out a huge sigh of relief. I cannot even begin to imagine what I would do if I walked to where I parked and did not see my car there today.

I am SUPER thankful that He protected Kobe! Thank You, God!

  • Hand Sanitizers

    Hand Sanitizers

    Hand Sanitizers

I had purchased a desk-size bottle of hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works a week or so ago for my office, thinking that it would of great use because of all the files, papers, pens, etc. that I have to touch and handle on daily basis. Little did I know it was only waiting to show me more of what it can do!

Working in an engineering department entails dealing with…engineers. I’m sure we all have our stereotypical perception of them and how they don’t tend to be very well-groomed. Though there are exceptions (my wonderful fiancé, for instance), the majority of the people that I see in my office fit quite well in that category. Under that category are those who don’t smell very good.

One day, a prototype stepped into my office to make an inquiry about their pay or something. The person’s odour started to spread in the air, and lingered after the person left. Before having the hand sanitizer, I would literally pick up two files and wave them around to push the stinky air out of the my office. Of course, I would have to make a quick check to see if anyone was approaching my office so I don’t get caught waving folders. Sometimes the air clears up, but for really bad cases, the files just aren’t big enough.

This time, I quickly pumped some hand sanitizer into my palm and lathered it on my hands and fingers. And it did the magic! My office smelled fantastic (it’s the Nectarine Mint scent, by the way) and you can’t even tell the odour was there at all!

Two birds with one stone! (Just for you, Karen.) The hand sanitizer sanitizes my hands, and fights off the trails of BO from visitors!! This is a must-have for all offices, I think :) What a brilliant invention.
